March Socks

march socks

This pair just about did me in. I didn't want to knit the second sock, as the first was boring and gray. Very sad. I finished the second one today just in time to post as my March socks for the SAM5 Knit-Along. A bit of color was added to make them less depressing. A slipper sock knit with three strands to use up odd balls of yarn. Now in Christmas Box 08'.

Disappointment: DD #1 said she DID NOT want to go to CWU, where she was accepted. WWU had 9,500 freshman applicants, they accepted only 2,600 freshman for Fall 08. She was not one of the lucky few. She knows several other classmates that didn't make it in, but my sadness is that she wants to stay here and attend the local community college. Most think I'm crazy, how wonderful that she will save us money by not having to pay for room/board/meals. Only tuition. I'll get over it...I just want her to have the college experience that I didn't.

Enough said.

Mates

Rainforest Mates!
33 yards of my mind's eye inspired vision of a canopy cover of trees in dark and light greens, with a quick view of a parrot or two. I think the big guy is checking out his new mate!

Easter Spring Swap Arrives

Can we say "fun". Looked what arrived in the post box today.

A package from Miss Knitty Kitty, for the Easter Spring Swap.

First off, she lives in the #1 destination that I need to go to, Prince Edward Island.

I am a Lucy Maud Montgomery fan. PEI is in many of her writings.

One day, I will get there. Until then, I have a wonderful PEI guide to reference, and lots of fun things from PEI as well.

Thank you Miss Knitty Kitty.

Now, to get to some knitting. I came down with a sinus infection or slight cold, though I did go to work all of last week, once Friday came around, I got home and stayed home until this morning as I headed back to work. I didn't rest much, getting homework, housework and misc. things done. Not much knitting, though I did get my yarn spun up for this week's Fiber Friday.

I have a class I am taking that uses up three - four evenings a week. It seems like time is flying by and I'm not getting much accomplished.

I need to finish Alex's 28Thirty sweater so I can get going on my March socks for SAM5.

Have a wonderful week!
